Just got up...finally got a full night's sleep for the first time in a couple of days and damn it feels good! Putting off doing some cleaning in preparation of moving at the end of the month and trying to decide what I want to do this evening instead. Last night, I saw the New York Dolls in a free show at the South Street Seaport in Lower Manhattan (****ing rocked!!!) and tommorow night, I'm going to a benefit for George Tabb at the Continental, but tonight is free.

Now that I've read Evil's post, I'm also squirming with anticipation b/c more US dates might mean that I get to see the Independents more than once this tour! Right now, there's only one date listed that I could easily get to. I got to see them two nights back to back last tour and it was fun! :

JRL- If you want to see Independents interviews that aren't on the page anymore, go to this page http://www.archive.org/web/web/php and type in the Independents website URL and they'll show you archived versions from different points in time. B/c it's archived and they can't always retrieve the whole thing, some links and some parts of some versions of the page won't work, but it's still pretty cool.

Glad to be able to join

Yeah, my housemate and I couldn't find two people to replace the people who were leaving our 4 person houseshare, so we're moving out and going our separate ways. After the way she's been acting lately, I'm not so sure I mind.

Thanks for the good luck There are a few things I'm going to have to get used to with the new place, but it's a nice apartment and it's in an area that I really like, so it looks promising.

I hope you get to see the Independents too! Maybe you'll get to meet Jari-Pekka Latio as well. He lives in Finland, so he might come if the Independents play Norway. I finally got to meet him when he came to NYC last spring. He's a really nice guy. I tried to drive him and his friend (who lives in Brooklyn) to an Independents show in New Jersey while he was there, but we got really lost and never got there, so I'm really hoping that when the band hits Europe, he gets to see them.

If she's been acting weird, maybe it's best to separate? You can still keep in touch if you are friends though

It's often like that, that yu have to get used to that place! It's been like that when we moved too!
I hope I get to meet Jari, and of course the Independents!
That would be really cool! It's not very far to drive from Finland to Norway, so he might come if they come here!

Today, I locked my housekeys in the house. Luckily, I had an extra car key in my purse and my aunt and uncle have a spare copy of my housekey, so I drove over there and wound up staying for dinner and then hanging out for a while. My aunt is trying to tame two feral kittens so they can be placed in loving homes (it's not guarenteed to work, but she's sucessfully done it before). They're still at the point where they won't even come out of the box she fixed for them, but she titled it up so I could see them. They're adorable.

Right now, I'm putting off cleaning my room and packing for the move. It's too ****ing hot in here, so I'm going to go read in the living room and maybe watch a Bullys video I have. The Salvation Army rejected it and I have no room for it in my new apartment, so tommorow night, the couch I'm about to go sit on (which is really an old discarded matress and boxspring) is going to go on the curb for trash pick-up. I'm going to miss it.

Haha I'm glad you got into your house!

I just got back from my dad now, I visit him every other weekend, before I used to do it on wednesdays too, but now as I get older I'm only there every other weekend.
We didn't do anything special this time, we only watched a few movies and so on, and ivited my great grandma (who is 97 years old) today.

Wow! Happy birthday to your great-grandmother! Sucks you don't get to see your dad as much.

Today, I took some of my stuff over to my new apartment. Tommorow, I have to take more of it over. Thursday, my cousin will help me move whatever doesn't fit in the back of my car. I have to be out of here by midnight Thursday. I can't ****ing wait until I'm done with this move already. I'll be even happier when someone ****ing hires me. My parents are backing me for up to a year, so I'm lucky in that respect, but being able to go out on the weekend doesn't help the extreme boredom that comes from having this much free time!

This weekend, after I get moved in, I'm going home to visit for a few days. I haven't been home in 2 months, so I'm really looking forward to it.

I hope you'll be happier in your new place. So you are un-employed? I'm sure someone will hire you in not too long!
I think you're a really cool person, and anyone who doesn't want to hire you must be crazy haha

Yeah, I just got out of school last May, so now I'm trying to find a job in the field I just earned a certification in. The annoying thing is that if I hadn't dropped out of law school last winter, my career path would be paved for me thanks to this really cool internship I had last summer. Everyone there wanted me to come back the next year and this a place that tends to hire it's interns after they finish law school. Unfortunately, I was just too burnt out to continue

Thanks for the encouragement   I hope you're right. I'm getting sick not having a job! I've done some temporary stuff, but unfortunately, restaurants, stores, etc, won't touch me because my work/school history indicates that I'm basically only planning to work there until something better comes along and they're right! I got my degree and certification so I could work somewhere better!

My sister says that for career-related jobs, the average wait to get hired is 6 months. I've only been applying for 3. Hopefully I can beat the average...

Hopefully...yeah, I did the enjoy the spare time thing, but you can only do it for so long...at least I'm in Maryland until Tuesday. Looking forward to the next couple of days. Once it gets a bit later (it's 7am here), I'm going to call my friends and try to make some plans. I'm not usually awake at this hour, but when I got back to Maryland last night, I fell asleep and slept off the past couple of days over the course of 12 hours.

There's a tropical storm going up the east coast of the United States right now. Since the birds have come out within the past half hour or so, I think it might be finished with Maryland. It hit the Carolinas earlier this week. The Independents are lucky that they started their tour heading to Georgia b/c it had them moving south while the storm was moving north. Then again, being from South Carolina and probably having departed for numerous fall tours during hurricane season, it's possible that this was more than luck.

But atleast you're free to spend as much time as you want, on this MB ahha
But as I said, I'm sure you'll get a job soon!

Yeah the guys were lucky they're on the road right now!!
